Babymoon Third day in Palolem Boat Riding

Once again I woke up to cramps in my legs. These cramps are so frequent during pregnancy that they take some getting used to. Drinking plenty of water helps a bit, but though I had been drinking water like a fish, the cramps never seemed to go away. After some stretching and massaging by Anu I got some relief. Donning very little makeup, we set off for our backwater boatride with Guru bhai. I carried the coconut sandwiches and cakes we had bought the previous night for our trip.

The weather was humid, so I wore a comfortable cotton dress and tied up my hair.

We had to walk for about 10 minutes from the beach resort as the backwaters start at the end of the Palolem beach.
Here are a few pics of some “locals” we met on our way J

At about 8:15 AM our boat trip started.

Guru bhai was pretty informative and quite aware of the surroundings. He was always able to spot different types of bird in the dense trees. Anu got some nice shots with his help.

Some long tailed friends too :D

The backwater is full of Mangroves and several huge rocks lying in the water. It was a very serene and beautiful ride.

Guru bhai showed us some cottages which were closed at that time. During the peak season, a lot of foreigners come to stay in those cottages. According to Guru bhai those goras have ulti demak :D (The foreigners are crazy). He was unable to figure out why they would pay such huge sums of money to stay there, when they could stay in 5-star, 4-star hotels for the same amount.
So we had to make him understand that they already have those luxuries in their home countries. Here they come for a different experience and some may even write about their experiences.

After the ride was over I felt tired and hungry at the same time. We had already planned to visit a restaurant called "The Cafe" which was just behind our resort. We went there and had one of the most wonderful breakfast of our lives J
We ordered masala omelet, scrambled egg white, Feta cheese sandwich (which they recommended in their menu), Avocado sandwich, watermelon juice and pineapple juice (haaa!!!! Such a big list) :P

The sandwiches were awesome and in my opinion this restaurant is a must visit.
After the lovely breakfast, we planned to hit the beach. In one of my later posts I will let you know of some precautions to be taken at the beach during pregnancy.
Till then, good bye…..
